This website is  kept up-to-date with information that the Department of Landscape Architecture in the College of Built Environments at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, wishes to distribute to our larger community. The format is that of a blog so that we may keep track of the dialgue we have with  green roof and green infrastructure ethusiasts-at-large in the Puget Sound |Georgia Basin area. If you have any suggestions for material you would like to see on this website, please send a brief email using the link provided.

The purpose of this website, at the moment at least, is  to help readers to understand green roofs from two different perspectives, that of a researcher and that of a user or viewer. The research point-of-view is expressed under the tab "GResearch", shorthand for Green Roof research. The viewpoint of a casual observer is discussed under the tab called "GRemonstration" or Green Roof demonstration. Each of these categories is supported by a specific research program and demonstration site, respectively.

Please feel free to comment. We are axcited to use the commons of the internet to have an open, transparent dialogue about sustaining plants and retaining water on rootops. We simply ask that comments are profesional and polite.

Thanks for visiting.
